My Jewelry Boxes

The style of jewelry box that I've been making lately is called a bandsaw box or a band saw box. Working mostly with hardwoods and then laminating the wood in contrasting shades and colors, I have been able to create many different looks. Sometimes the contrast in woods is dramatic. Sometimes it is more subtle. I also have some smaller jewelry boxes that I'm making out of a solid block of wood. Each jewelry box is hand cut on my bandsaw making it a truly original handcrafted work of art. After sanding each one to near perfection, I give each a protective finish using two or more coats of Danish Oil. When that has dried, I apply a liberal coating of Feed-N-Wax and buff that out.
If you have been looking for a run-of-the-mill square or rectangular jewelry box, you won't find one here. Each of my boxes is a gently flowing curved sculpture with smooth rounded edges.
